We bought our house less than a year ago and then found out my husband was being transferred. I interviewed another realtor before Petra, who suggested that we list for less than what we paid. We have worked really hard on our house so the news was less than desirable. As soon as I met Petra, I realized that this other realtor was only interested in her quick sale and not our situation. Petra is an expert in the area suggested we list for $14,000 over what we paid. Not only was that music to our ears, but I immediately trusted Petra. I knew that she cared the first time I met her. She immediately set up an open house and we got great traffic. We had a ton of showings after the open house. Two weeks after we listed, we got a full price offer! Petra is there for you 24/7. She will always respond at any time of the day and keep you fully informed during the entire process. We didn't use the realtor who helped us buy our house because I couldn't get a response once the deal was done. Petra still cares and isn't just about the check. I would just like to take a moment to say that Petra Thomas is an AWESOME Real Estate Broker, she is very honest, patient, compassionate and dedicated to the needs of the buyer/seller. I met Petra in 2005 per my searching for a home to purchase. I will just say that Petra was very patient with me still, after looking at 20 prospects within a short period of time; none of which I liked. The 21st model visited was very nice and when I walked in, I knew it was THE HOUSE for my family. HOWEVER, I disliked the location. In a couple of hours, Petra was able to find another location of town on which the model was being built. We met in at the newly constructed "Braefield" subdivision, the exterior of the two existing desired models were not of my liking. We continued to drive through the sub and there was an end lot for sale on which I had to have. Petra called the builder back to find out if the lot would accommodate my chosen model. It all worked out perfectly & I ended up building my new home customed to my likings!!! Last year, I reached out to Petra again to place my home on the market, which was a very difficult decision for me. Petra was very gentle with me throughout the emotional process on which I sometimes called her in tears! Petra sold my home in March of 2011 & I highly recommend her expertise and professionalism to everyone interested in purchasing & or selling a home.

Petra is an amazing realtor!!!!
We just went through the process to buy our first home so I'm sure we were those annoying first time clients with a zillion annoying questions at every corner..... but Petra stayed calm, professional and friendly and always responding quickly and with easy to understand answers. She was extremely flexible around my hectic work schedule and set us up for viewings very quickly so we wouldn't miss out.
We only saw 4 homes before we found ours and Petra ensured we put in a good offer in this compatible market. She guided us through the process and stayed available to our needs until we closed.
Even after we closed she stayed in touch and ensured everything was going well!!! She went above and beyond and even used money from her closing check to fix our AC unit that wasn't working when we moved in. You can't get better than that!!!!

Petra Thomas is an awesome real estate agent!! She helped me sell my townhouse in Morrisville and find a new house in Raleigh. While the sale of my townhouse was easy, the buying of the new house turned into a nightmare, but through the entire she kept her cool, very professional and did so much work beyond of what is to be expected. While I fell apart in the process a couple of times, she was diligent and we finally got it all done and the purchase happened, even though it was delayed, only to have an immediate leak caused by the overflow pipe of the bathroom not being connected properly and she even helped me with all that drama, so her follow up and help after the purchase of the home was very much appreciated and couldn't have done it without her! And a couple of years later, I consider her to be a great friend and always recommend her to all of my contacts. You will not be disappointed!! Give her a call!! (and if you happen to speak German, she is even bi-lingual and from my home country!! BONUS!! and she speaks Spanish too!)...you cannot go wrong by choosing Petra Thomas!

I took time to provide a long, detailed write up so that anyone reading could see some of the ways Petra gives her all in helping her home sellers/buyers. For those preferring a shorter version, Petra is superb in her knowledge, expertise, responsiveness and has fantastic connections for referral needs.
Here is the full story of my experience partnering with her earlier this year.
I invited Petra over in January to talk about what suggestions she had for me to get my two-story town-home ready for sale in the next two years. She did a walk-through and we sat down to discuss pros and cons of selling as-is or making a few changes before listing. I was not expecting her to say that with a fresh coat of paint and some updated flooring my home could probably sell in a week for much more than I expected. Suddenly what I thought was a two year plan could actually happen much sooner. I decided to go for it then instead of waiting. Petra had great referral resources that did excellent work. By the time the paint and flooring completed I almost could have been persuaded to stay, but not quite. My mind was made up for a ranch-style home with a large backyard for my big dogs to enjoy.
While my house was getting ready to list I began my search for my next home. Petra connected me to a trusted lender and closing attorney she works closely with, I was prepared and just needed to find a place to buy and close on concurrently with when my town-home. Petra was so patient and encouraging when we would view great houses that had lots of attributes, but that I rejected as not perfect for me. She showed me a lot of homes and helped me place offers. The first couple didn’t work out as the contingency factor wasn’t appealing to sellers compared to other offers that were not contingent on selling a home first.
I was getting a little discouraged but Petra encouraged me that it would all come together and reminded me I had a plan in place even if it took more time to buy than the closing of my town-home would take. No need to settle for something that wasn’t what I truly wanted.
My townhouse listed on a Thursday in March but I didn’t permit showings until my Open-House, the following Sunday. Petra was out of the country so she arranged someone else to show the house so there was no delay once I was ready. My home sold in one day! That day a new listing appeared that I just had to see. Petra arranged someone to show the house to me the first evening of listing, ahead of its Open-House. I loved it and wanted to place an offer right away. From out of the country, Petra worked diligently to get my offer in and communicate back and forth. She was as overjoyed as I was when she called a short time later to tell me the offer was accepted!
She worked with me during the due diligence period getting appointments set and giving her thoughts and expertise on things I had questions about. The closings on both homes happened in April on the same day. I had a great experience with Petra as my Realtor, I am thrilled that I chose her. She was flexible and dependable throughout the process. I am so thankful for her. Her guidance paid off for me incredibly, I definitely recommend partnering with on a home buying/selling journey.Less
